Why a Post Bed Sewing Machine for Hats?
Sewing patches onto hats requires working on curved and structured surfaces that are difficult to access with a traditional sewing machine. The post-bed design raises the sewing area above the machine base, allowing the hat to move freely around the needle. This makes it easier to maneuver and rotate the hat while maintaining accurate stitching along patch borders and curved surfaces.

SmartServo Motor
The SmartServo motor provides smooth, quiet industrial power with fully adjustable speed control. Unlike traditional clutch motors, it allows you to sew slowly and precisely when positioning patches, while still delivering full power when needed. This gives you greater control over stitch placement and reduces operator fatigue during extended production runs.
Speed Reducer
The speed reducer is an additional pulley system installed in combination with the variable speed SmartServo motor. It further reduces the minimum sewing speed from approximately 2 stitches per second to less than 1 stitch per second, giving you exceptional low-speed control.
This added torque and precision is especially valuable when sewing thicker leather, PVC or multi-layer patches onto structured hats. It allows for careful stitch placement around curves and edges while maintaining consistent power through dense materials.
Automatic Needle Position System
Available with the 810 Pro package, the SmartServo-NP automatic needle position system improves efficiency and control by automatically stopping the needle in the down position when the operation pedal is released. This allows the operator to pivot the hat smoothly when sewing corners and curves, helping maintain clean stitch lines and consistent alignment along patch borders.
It also positions the needle for easier material insertion and removal, eliminating the need to manually turn the flywheel between steps. The result is faster workflow, improved accuracy, and smoother day-to-day operation.
DESIGNED FOR PATCH SEWING
Post-Bed
The 7” post bed makes it easy to maneuver and rotate hats while sewing, helping position patches accurately and maintain consistent stitching around curved surfaces. The elevated design also provides enough clearance to turn the hat a full 360° without interference from the machine.
Roller Foot
The roller foot glides smoothly over patch materials while reducing friction during sewing. It provides greater control when sewing intricate shapes and curves and makes it easier to stitch very close to patch borders for clean, professional edge stitching.
Reverse Stitching
The reverse lever allows the operator to reinforce stitches at the beginning and end of seams. This helps secure patches firmly in place and improves the durability of the finished stitch.
